New Sony HDR-TG5V Handycam Camcorder


Sony HDR-TG5VSony announced a new lightweight portable HD video camera with a titanium body and Carl Zeiss Vaio-Tessar 10X optical zoom lens, that captures1920x1080 high-definition video and four-megapixel digital photos. This Sony HDR-TG5V Handycam Camcorder includes 16GB of flash memory, embedded GPS, and a new intuitive user interface for its 2.7-inch touch-panel LCD.

A built-in GPS antenna and NAVTEQ digital maps allows you to geo-tag your videos and photos which can also be viewed on a PC using the included Picture Motion Browser software. 16GB of embedded memory on the HDR-TG5V camcorder can hold more than six hours of high-definition video in LP mode, and video/photos can be captured onto a Memory Stick PRO Duo card as well. The camcorder also includes Smile Shutter technology, Face Detection technology, and a BIONZ Image Processor for quality images.

Shipping in May for about $1,000, the Sony HDR-TG5V Handycam Camcorder also features a travel kit (Sony ACC-TCH5) with a battery, travel charger and pouch that will be available for about $100, and a wide angle conversion lens (Sony VCL-HGE07TB) for about $100.
